Since the devastating Cyclone Gabrielle North Clyde flooding, work has been ongoing to find possible solutions to help protect the community of Wairoa from future flood events.
The Tripartite partners – Wairoa District Council, Tātau Tātau o te Wairoa Trust and Hawke’s Bay Regional Council – have been working together with the Wairoa Flood Mitigations Scheme Stakeholder Group, mana whenua, river engineers and other technical experts to progress this important mahi at pace.
